HiDef.... one of the big dadies of the gsp market. i've owned many servers in the past and have played in some nice hidefs back in the day when they were the true meaning of 'hidef' servers. my clan purchased a prodef server and it performed okay for the first week and a half, after that it didn't register well at all we tried to get it fixed but the problem persisted. we recently switched over to a 1000fps server from another company (not giong to promote another company on HDG's review site) but it only costs us $45 a month and it performs much better. We ping lower and the registry is solid.

Pros: good cpanel, nice website design, nice staff
Cons: Server just doesnt stand up to its name anymore, old machines? i donno, but for us it just isn't HIDEF like it should be!

Performance- Hi-Defs server performance is so amazing, all shots register perfectly, and the whole sever is smooth, not to mention the consistently low pings, I live in L.A and I get an average of 50-60 ping on the Chicago Location!

Support- They exceptionally well customer support, and alot of support techs, I usually get a response within 6 hours

Features/Panels: Hds black box panel system is so descriptive and helpfull, it can do everything from starting the server to monitoring the cpu usage and its ram usage!

Pricing- I must say my server was pretty expensive at around $80. but it was well worth it for the performance my team got out of the server!

If you live in Central. ie Texas. DO NOT GET A CHICAGO. I have a team of 7 players and we had a Chicago server, 5 players from Texas all had 85 ping in a Chicago server. None of the players are on Wireless, and our player from California got 65 Ping. So for some reason if you get Chicago server the Ping is really bad in Texas. The new internet they changed to sucks. im not gona lie. The server reg was amazing for about 1 week.

Also we have the 1000fps server, yes it is always constint, but the server registery is not as well as some other 1000fps servers i have had. 5v5 scrims the fps would be 1000 yet the registery was terrible. Now i know people are gona say "well it must be you" but no. We had some friends come in and we did all kinds of tests where the player is standing still and 4/10 it would reg.

This is just my review this isnt a flare or a hate.

If i were you i would use the 15% off coupon for Electrfiy, buy the Ultra package for only 70$. I have had it for 3 weeks, and 10/10 register.

Thats only $10 more and u get more Ticrate.

First off - Laws is a great guy and is always a lot of help!, this review is only my experience with Hi-Def and does not depict the company itself!

I purchased a hidef a while ago, and though it performed well for the first week it started to really lose its registry and my team and I just didn't feel like it was worth the money we paid. The server got so bad in the 3rd week of service, we didn't feel it was worth it to try and submit tickets to get it fixed or what not, even though it had been 'fixed' prior to the week. We ended up purchasing a new server from another company for a cheaper price before our subscription was over... that was my experience with hidef.

Not so good product, great service, meh cPanel, would never pay that much here again.

I love HiDef! Their new Chicago location is amazing!!! I've never seen a company change their networks so much to please customers, and get the best network possible. I was kind of worried when they switched to MZIMA as I never heard of it, I'm used to hearing internap is so good for gaming, well they know how to run their servers...and support them. I just wanted to say HiDef is #1...I've been with NFO, SUMMIT, Velocity, Galore...none of them even come close or compare hands down. I get consistent 1000FPS it doesn't fluctuate!!

Out of all the servers I have had so far no other company comes even close.

Hidef has always been my favorite GSP. Joe Laws and his team have never ceased to amaze me. Whenever, I needed a location switch or a server type change they are always there to help me out. Their servers, much like a nice sports car, are some of the best performing, if not the best performing servers around. You do need to take care of them, which entails a routine deletion of logs and ztmp files but if well kept I feel they're the best servers around, bar none.

Where to start? Smith helped me out in getting setup with a server for my organization, he told me about the current coupon to get $10 off. What kind of host tells you how to get money off after my mind is already made up? So very helpful, he also said HiDef recently lowered their pricing so that means they really are the best bang for your buck. My source team was jealous so I went back and talked to Laws, the owner of the company, more than helpful and he had my server setup in under a hour. I like the fact that HiDef uses their own control panel and not someone elses, functionality is great!! The only thing from not getting a 10 is, I wish it could be tied into their billing system. Someone is always on IRC to help me out when needed. Overall, one of the best hosts I've been with ever as far as quality of service, support, and bang for my buck!

These guys are pricey, but well worth it if you are willing to spend. Customer support is topnotch (thanks to jlaws <3). The control panel is good, but I really never used it since I used SmartFTP. Registry was great, until a month or two into using it. Maybe it was just a temporary overload of servers, but they quickly fixed things up and the tick was great.

best server I've used great support, nice features with the black box with easy use. great tick rate and great price. Runs smoothly with constant high tick in and out never any ping spikes.
